Equecos (2008)
Video, photography and installationIn Latin American cities there are characters who roam the streets, using their bodies as a support for the display of multiple merchandise, evidencing the shortage of formal jobs, the product of wrong economic policies. These characters relate them to the Equecos, who are gods of prosperity in Andean mythology. Referring to this relationship I find a formal analogy and a conceptual contradiction. From this premise, a plastic discourse is developed that includes an installation of 60 sculptures of Equecos and a documentary video.
